What is the Oktoberfest in the Park?
The Oktoberfest in the Park is a planned annual event. It features live German-themed entertainment, authentic German dinner cuisine and snacks, German Style beer, soft drinks and a cash bar for schnapps and German wine. More than 200 guests are expected. Cost is $40 per person or two tickets for $75.

Avonworth Community Park is located in the former Camp Horne, which was a country retreat created by the Joseph Horne department store company for its employees. It now serves as a focal point for recreation for residents of the Avonworth community, which includes the municipalities of Ben Avon, Emsworth, Ohio Township, Ben Avon Heights, and Kilbuck Township. Park amenities include a large swimming pool, ball fields, picnic groves, a “Kids Kingdom,” and event facilities. A number of the original Camp Horne buildings are still in use at the park.
